When I first joined this course, I thought it would just cover the curriculum from the next paid course. But it turned out to be more thoughtful than I expected. Jerry gave me the insights I needed when considering entering the GRC field. The way he shared really seemed genuinely meant to share insights. This course should be known by many beginners like me.

This Cyber Foundations course was truly illuminating. I've gone through it once before but going through it again really helped to cement and set in that yes, this is something that I do want to do. It completely aligns with my previous experience and with my current experience of being a claims adjuster: being very analytical, dealing with shareholders (i.e., insureds, customers, happy, upset, all different varieties of situations), and being able to adapt and digest boring policy information. That's something that I already have experience in and I feel like it will be very easily translatable to anything that I do in the GRC field. I'm excited to dive in and learn more about GRC

The course was extremely useful for clarifying the path that I need to take in pursuing GRC

I was having trouble understanding what the work of GRC looks like because of the privacy surrounding real GRC work. Through the course, Dr. Auger demonstrated--in real-time--the work of GRC by diving into documentation (particularly NIST), highlighting important concepts of larger bodies such as 800 53, explaining and constructing an audit, a risk assessment, and a policy document. My only warning is that he gets a little excited, and as such such, his examples and considerations often show up at the oddest of times, so careful note-taking and some pausing/re-watching may be required to connect everything he's got going on. I also didn't realize this was almost entirely a video-based course, so make sure you're ready to stay engaged by actually accessing the materials he shows on-screen, doing some of your own reading, and taking notes on your own--this is not a "copy and paste into your notes" kind of course, it's an exciting overview of the real world of GRC from the lens of a tried-and-true professional. I know these may seem like sour notes, but it's only because I'm used to cut-and-dry university lectures and sifting legalese in source documents. In addition to the information, this course proved useful in showing me that GRC education doesn't have to be dry.

This is a great course from Tyler, who builds the course challenges around real cases from his own engagements. I really like his approach: he starts with methodology, then goes deep into hands-on activity - not just running you through fancy tools in predefined scenarios. The course also covers both automated and manual approaches, and how to leverage AI, which matters a lot right now

I am looking to make a change in my career path with prior experience in law-enforcement. Most job availability that I see in my area have some type of cyber security requirement.
